Old folks rawk.

I was forced to an old folks home with BUBS near the subang airport. And i must say, these old people are one way or another very entertaining.

Firstly, every little old folks home has to have a rebel. A distinct old lady or man who will disobey orders, or do things their way. And these rebels will no fail prompt the caretakers to keep on yelling at them and they just wont listen. My great-grandma is a rebel in her o-f-home in m'cca until they had no choice but to tie her to her chair just in case she picks up a cleaver and starts snapping at the caretaker. She's done that before.

Jiar and i attended to this hainanese lady and she start relating her past stories to us like a maglev train. Worst thing was neither both of us could understand her language, so we just nodded and stared at her while she spoke with pretended interest, occasionally replying her with "em"s and "hai loh"s. It was comedic since she assumed we could understand, and the fact that she was entertaining us instead. Old people are funny.

Every home has its balance of happy chit-chatty and of course the small group of menopausers. Especially the old men, they just sit there and stare at the rest of us entertaining their female counterparts with the "why are you flirting with my woman" look. They may be old and wrinkly and saggy, but i tell you these old men are bastards. You kindly offer to strike a conversation and they start snorting like pigs. And they dont even aknowledge your presence. Some more give us the stupid look like we're being sexist.

My inability to converse in canton has hindered my chances to strike proper conversations but i still had fun nodding and play-pretending to understand. Plus i think its comforting to know you're not actually wasting your sunday morning.

And while i was doing something good, i noticed that xr and chucs were up early to blog. And to blog about 2005. I dont know if any of them couldve tapped into my mind resonance but i was thinking of the exact same thing last night. To do a pretty photoblog about 2005.

Now 2005 hasn't been exactly MY year like 2004 but undoubtly there are some things to certainly cherish and to know that some friendships have been even closely-knitted.

Especially mine with XueRou and Chucs.

I dont wanna sound corny but with these two, i just cant help it lah. Xr and chucs are like my kakis. All through 2004 and 2005. Big sisters. They're over at my place for bm tuitions on tuesday afternoons and then cny snacks after that. Chucs will sapu all my bak kua and xr will try to sapu whatever chucs cant.

Xr's supposed to get super super sticky glue at petaling street today to stick us slowly and gradually so by the end of high school we dont get split up. Lots of sayangs.

Of course, the progression of me and Emelia Tan.

Met in pn.molly's friday night science in 2004. Who knew we'd end up like this. Mlia, i really wanna tell you that you're... dayymmmnnn lame err. Loves. <3

The friendship with Jo, John, Vrillie, and Jin blossomed in 2005 as well.

John you're the only guy in it all and you should be really really proud of that fact. Haha. Jo may be whiny and irritating like a mosquito to the ear in the middle of the night, but she has helped me alot in many ways and i know who to depend on in times of need. Vril listens to me whine and is probably the only other member in a secret society that only know and are willing to join. Jin is a loser. Hah.

The highlights of MY 2005 play an equal role in shaping the whole year as well.

Ann turns 21.

Chia Sue Ann, eldest child of the Chia family turned 21 on the 2nd of May 2005.

My first campfire attendance.

I attended my first campfire representing the prefectorial board on the 25th of June 2005.

Winning the INTI College International Cultural Nite.

With our Puteri Santubong dance touted as probably the best Tmn SEA has to offer, the 2004 expedition group went on to win RM 400 on the 7th July 2005.

Winning the prestigious INTI College Drama Competition Title.

Beating drama pioneers such as St. John's Institute to bag the top winners of winners award, with the title Champion School Play and RM1200 at The Actor's Studio Bangsar on the 30th of June 2005. This probably the BIGGEST highlight of year 2005 for me.

Dad's 50th Birthday.

Old is gold. Dad turning half a century old on the 26th of August 2005.

Shanghai Trip.

Family and friends trip to Shanghai on the 30th of October 2005.

My surprise party.

Thank vril for this. I had my most memorable birthday so far on the 10th of november 2005.

Genting 2005!

Where the Genting Crew 05 was born. My first ever vacation with a bunch of crazy losers on the 6th of December 2005. And it'll take a superb vacation with chaffeur driven limos and sultan dining to challenge this trip. Love y'all!

Frasers Hill 2005.

The bi-annual family holiday vacation. Most of the time to Frasers Hill. This one's on the 24th December 2005.

Countdown 2006.

My first countdown party at Ikano Power Centre on the 31st of December 2005. Bye 2005, hello hot dog 2006.

So these are the things worth looking back to represent my year 2005. though not the best of years i've had but it was probably more memorable than any other by far.

Xr and chuc's year 2005 post looks amateur compared to mine. Hahaha.
